This drama featuring four young lovers who are messed about by the quarrelsome fairy king and queen, is undoubtedly one of Shakespeare’s strongest and most beloved plays. Just four actors bring A Midsummer Night’s Dream to life in a refreshing way—out of a hat, or rather, out of a suitcase. With minimal props and costume, the quartet embrace the motto “low on materials, high on imagination,” swiftly switching between characters and scenes. They draw the audience into Shakespeare’s midsummer world of light and shadow, where humour and dreams magically merge.
