Fest of Fools

“Fest of Fools" is a festival that highlights humor as a medium in choreography, cultural practice, and social dialogue. Through four diverse performances Kysy Fischer, Alica Minar, Raul Vargas Torres and Felix Baumann invite the audience to an exchange about the significance of humor in nowadays society marked by crisis. At its core, “Fest of Fools” challenges the notion that difficult topics should be approached with seriousness alone. "You can’t talk about difficult subjects without a pinch of humor," is a guiding principle of the festival. For the organizers, humor is a form of reflection, critique, and temporary distancing - a subversive tool that enables individuals and communities to engage with complex topics, uncover contradictions, question power structures, challenge societal norms, initiate social change, and support conflict resolution.
